Power up your play with this intense 5-week camp that is focused on improving your skating. We have seen the need to increase the skating ability of the players we have been training over the past many years and this summer we have invested in making that happen. This summer camp will consist of 2 power skating days run by 2 different power skating coaches to bring maximum impact. The 3rd day of the camp will be a skills day headed up by Coach Nick Bootland.
Pro Power Skating Coach, Mindi Priskey is back! Mindi brings a tremendous amount of experience working with hockey players ranging from young AAA players all the way up to the NHL level. She holds a Level 4 Hockey Power Skating Rating and is Safe Sport certified. Mindi’s Power skating camps in Detroit are highly successful and are booked solid every summer.
New addition to the coaching team this year is Marcie Kierpiec. Marci is a Pro Power Skating Coach with a massive pedigree. She is a Level 4 certified coach with USA Hockey and has 36 years of coaching experience. Marci is the lead skating instructor for the Michigan High School Hockey Excellence Program and was the On-ice skating instructor for U18 Compuware AAA team, U16 Compuware AAA team and U14 Honey Baked AAA team (seasons 2016-2019). She holds a Degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength and Conditioning which included an internship (Fall 2016) with USA Hockey’s NTDP where she worked with both the U18 and U17 teams during their off-ice training sessions, as well as, on ice with the U17 team by assisting their regular power skating instructor.
The goal of this camp is to transfer all of the off ice strength and conditioning that has been developed over the summer into ON ICE readiness for the coming season. This camp focus will be on stride strength and power, explosive stops and starts and reaction time.
