Athletic Mentors in Partnership With KOHA Ultimate – Pre-Season Training Week!

Get ready for the season with this On and Off ice training week with an All Star Coaching Staff from the East Side of The Mitten.  We will have two on ice sessions per day and two off ice sessions per day to get you in peak condition for the start of your seasonAthletic Mentors will offer Power Skating and Skill Development sessions each day, combined with Off ice sessions focused on recovery, movement sessions and some fun games!

Skills Coach Julian Biondo

Julian hails from Washington Township , Michigan, playing his youth hockey in the Metro Detroit area. Julian finished his youth hockey career as an Oakland Junior Grizzlies playing for Mike Peruzzi.  Julian signed a NAHL Tender with the Lonestar Brahmas of Fort Worth, Texas.  During his time in Texas he won a National Championship and was the team captain his second year.  Julian is entering his fifth season coaching AAA hockey at both 18U and 16U. Julian is also a Scout for the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL (three seasons) and the Lonestar Brahmas (four seasons), while recently accepting a Coach Developer role with USA Hockey.

Skills Coach Evan Alexius

Evan a native of Folsom, California, recently brought his coaching skills from the Pacific District to Michigan.  Evan completed his junior career with the Arizona Red Hawks of the WSHL in 2012 and began his coaching journey.  Evan led the San Jose Jr Sharks 18U AAA team to a Pacific District title in 2020.  Evan relocated to Michigan to accept a position with HoneyBaked Hockey Club.  Coach Alexius led the 18U AAA HoneyBaked team in 2021/22 and will run the bench for the 15O (07) HoneyBaked this upcoming season.  Evan is employed by the Suburban Sports Group and is a Coach Developer for USA Hockey.  He is also a volunteer scout for the USHL and private skill development coach.

Pro Power Skating Coach Marcie Kierpiec

Marcie is a Pro Power Skating Coach with a massive pedigree.  She is a Level 4 certified coach with USA Hockey, a USA Hockey Coach Developer,  and has 36 years of coaching experience.  Marcie is the lead skating instructor for the Michigan High School Hockey Excellence Program and was the On-ice skating instructor for U18 Compuware AAA team, U16 Compuware AAA team and U14 Honey Baked AAA team (seasons 2016-2019).  She holds a Degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength and Conditioning which included an internship (Fall 2016) with USA Hockey’s NTDP where she worked with both the U18 and U17 teams during their off-ice training sessions, as well as, on ice with the U17 team by assisting their regular power skating instructor.

2022 Camp Dates & Details:

  • Length: 1 Week – 4 Days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Start Date: Monday, August 15th, 2022
  • End Date: Thursday, August 18th, 2022
  • Location: Wings West (5076 Sports Drive, Kalamazoo)

Camp is LIMITED to 25 skaters PER group
