Ultimate On-Ice Conditioning – Skills & Power Skating Camp

Power up your play with this intense 6-week camp that is focused on improving your skating.  We have seen the need to increase the skating ability of the players we have been training over the past many years and this summer we have invested in making that happen.

Coach Marcie Kierpiec is back and will be running the power skating day of the camp!  Marci is a Pro Power Skating Coach with a massive pedigree.  She is a Level 4 certified coach with USA Hockey and has 36 years of coaching experience.  Marci is the lead skating instructor for the Michigan High School Hockey Excellence Program and was the On-ice skating instructor for U18 Compuware AAA team, U16 Compuware AAA team and U14 Honey Baked AAA team (seasons 2016-2019).  She holds a Degree in Exercise Science with a focus on Strength and Conditioning which included an internship (Fall 2016) with USA Hockey’s NTDP where she worked with both the U18 and U17 teams during their off-ice training sessions, as well as, on ice with the U17 team by assisting their regular power skating instructor.

New this year!!!  We are adding Justin Taylor of the Kalamazoo K-wings to design and coach our on ice skills and small area game days.  Justin has been playing pro hockey for over 13 years.  He has played Major Jr for the London Knights and spent time in the AHL.  Most impressive is Justin has played 12 seasons with K-Wings!  Many of those years he has worn the “C” or “A”.  This season Justin scored his 475th point making him the ALL TIME POINTS LEADER in K-Wings history.  Justin is a natural goal scorer and an amazing coach.  Which is a very powerful combination that will bring your game to the next level!

The goal of this camp is to transfer all of the off ice strength and conditioning that has been developed over the summer into ON ICE readiness for the coming season. This camp focus will be on stride strength and power, explosive stops and starts and reaction time.
